Brief Description of this Job

We’re looking for a highly skilled and proven Graphic Designer. This person will be responsible for the creation of designs according to specifications and improving design tasks.

The ideal candidate should be able to create original ideas, be open to learning, generate impressive designs, and have a keen eye for detail. This role will support the design and creative functions in all marketing channels. Our ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a good handle on the latest design trends and responsive web & mobile best practices.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

 KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Coral Draw, Photoshop)
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
  • Typography knowledge
  • Multimedia content development
  • Understanding browser capabilities
  • Basic back-end user knowledge of Apps
  • WordPress knowledge for Website
  • Creativity and originality

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar type industry
  • Possess a solid understanding of design principles, printing procedures, photography, and illustration
  • Advanced knowledge of: Coral Draw OR Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Experienced in WordPress and Website administration
  • Solid working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating / printing artwork for a variety of communications material to include: advertising, branding, and marketing campaigns
  • Creating artwork of the highest standard according to brand and corporate identity guidelines
  • Adapting artwork based on feedback from internal stakeholders
  • Creating print ready artwork for use by various service lines and group companies
  • Preparing layouts, formatting text to style sheets and preparing files for printers
  • Working to short deadlines and fast turnaround times
  • Constructing templates for use throughout the organisation
  • Putting together internal guidelines for artwork
  • Working on a variety of different projects covering typography, retouching designs, layouts and illustrations
  • Liaising with suppliers and managing the respective paperwork
  • Uploading marketing material to website and IBM Connections (internal server)
  • Uploading of new content e.g. documents/newsletters to the organisations various websites as well as updating content as required
  • Monthly review of website (check analytics / broken links / etc.)
  • Updating and maintaining the marketing department’s documentation and databases
  • Aligning / formatting of documents e.g. reports/tender/letters for the various service lines and offices throughout the organisation
  • Assisting the tender department with their submission of proposals in terms of creating/printing/cutting annexure boards and front covers
  • Taking photographs of new staff to upload onto the personnel system
  • Creating access cards for all employees at the Centurion office, as well as other companies based in the same building
  • Ordering of toner / reporting faults for the printers and smaller office equipment i.e. Smart Cutter/binding machines/laminating machines/folding machine
  • Ordering of electronic / printed guides from suppliers and distribution thereof to all offices
  • Ordering of letterheads / stamps / calendars / financial statement covers for the organisation
  • Printing and designing of business cards / pamphlets / posters for the organisation
  • Assisting HR in updating of the company organograms for all offices
